*REDUCED PRICE* This traditional stone-built house, complete with attached barns and hórreo, is a classic Asturian property, oozing charm and crammed full of character and original features. Set in a sunny, south-facing village, the property enjoys spectacular views and a stunning location in the heart of the Ubiñas Natural Park. It is just 5 minutes from the larger village of San Martín de Teverga, the county capital, where you will find all essential services including school, medical centre, shops, library, public outdoor swimming pool, and a ton of good bars and restaurants, as you would expect in a popular tourist destination such as this.

The house is perfectly habitable so you can move in and enjoy it from day 1, although it would benefit from some work to bring it fully up to modern day standards. There is also plenty of scope for further improvement  and extension via renovation of the attached barns. In total there is a huge amount of square footage that could provide further living space, yoga studio or simply excellent storage and workshop areas, depending on your specific needs.

A typical Asturian construction of stone and wood, both the stonework and the woodwork are in excellent condition, with super wide chestnut boards forming the flooring of the first floor and solid chestnut beams and window frames and beautiful carved chestnut doors throughout.

The main living accommodation is currently all on the first floor, with a large eat-in kitchen with solid-fuel range cooker and an original stone bread oven, three high-ceilinged bedrooms and a lovely Asturian ‘corredor’ complete with  sofa from where to drink in those mountain views and soak up the sun. The bathroom is to one end of the corredor, as is typical in the local architecture.

On the ground floor there are various store-rooms and barns. Shuttered dormer windows to the rear of the property open into the house and one of the barns. One of the barns is underneath the bedrooms, another double-height barn adjoins this, a further storeroom is located under the first floor hall and that in turn connects with another barn that has a large frontage to the right of the main house. This higgledy piggledy layout is all rooted in tradition and the history of the building and give a depth and charm that you will never find in a modern build. And if it sounds a little confusing on paper then you’d best book a viewing!

A perfect spot for nature lovers and outdoorsy types there are spectacular hikes straight from the house and throughout the local area. You also have some of the best sports climbing in Spain right on your doorstep! The area is also a haven for wildlife and fast becoming a mecca for wildlife spotters – the Cantabrian brown bear and wolves are amongst the animals you could hope to see through your binoculars! Another huge local tourist draw is the famous ‘Senda del Oso’ family friendly bike trail which passes close by.

Located in the southern part of Asturias, the Ubiñas form the border between Asturias and León and the proximity to León is notable in the local micro-climate. The county of Teverga has a drier, sunnier climate than most of Asturias, where the influence of the Atlantic is more noticeable.
